“Poland is interested in maintaining regular dialogue and exchange of views with Germany to reinforce the strategic partnership between the two countries and to uphold the entire European community,” Deputy Minister Cichocki emphasised, speaking at the meeting.
Commenting on the conflict in Ukraine, the ministers pointed to the importance of international commitment to solving it — the deeper the solidarity of international community on this issue, the greater the chances for easing the crisis. Both sides condemned the attacks on the OSCE mission in Donbas, which, against the odds, has been trying to fulfil its job of impartial monitoring of activities in an area affected by conflict. The deputy foreign ministers also exchanged views on Polish-German relations conducted bilaterally, at the EU, and within the Weimar Triangle.
While in Berlin, Deputy Minister Cichocki also took part in multilateral consultations devoted to, among others, the conflict in Ukraine, the outlook for supporting the peace process in this country, and sanction policy against Russia.
