    On behalf of Minister Witold Waszczykowski, Deputy Minister Katarzyna Kacperczyk has presented Andrzej Przyłębski with the nomination as Poland’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.

    Andrzej Przyłębski is a philosopher and translator. He spent most of his professional career at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, while also working as a philosophy professor at the Technische Universität Chemnitz. At the Adam Mickiewicz University, he worked in the Institute of Philosophy, where he was deputy director in 1993-96, before switching to the Institute of Cultural Studies. In 2014, he was appointed director of the newly established Centre of Florian Znaniecki’s Social Thought. Between 2003 and 2011, a member of the Philosophical Studies Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Awarded professorship in March 2010, he was appointed member of the National Development Council by President Andrzej Duda in 2015.

     

     

    Andrzej Przyłębski is also an experienced diplomat, having served for five years as cultural and scientific councillor at the Polish Embassy in Germany. He spent a total of 13 years in Germany, where he enjoys the reputation as a recognized and respected scholar.

     

    Professor Przyłębski is the author of 8 books and over 100 scholarly articles. He has translated 5 books and close to 50 scholarly articles, including from English.

     

    He is fluent in German and English, and can also speak Italian and Russian. Married, with two sons.
