In the fourth edition of the Polish-Columbian sports diplomacy programme have participated 10 girls from the city of Caucasia in the Antioquia department. During their stay in Warsaw (September 5-14, 2018), the students underwent volleyball training at the AZS AWF club, played friendly matches with the Polish peers and visited Warsaw, Gdańsk and Toruń. A group of Colombian volleyball players also met with Deputy Minister SZ S. Szynkowski vel Sęk and Deputy Sport Minister J. Widera.

Minister Szynkowski vel Sęk welcomed the young Colombians and expressed hope that "after returning to Colombia, they will talk about Poland and Poles and encourage their colleagues to visit our country." The Minister also emphasized that "sport is a particularly important element of life, shaping strength of character and developing discipline and self-confidence".

On the basis of a bilateral agreement of 2015, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Colombia has been carrying out for four years sports diplomacy projects for Colombian youth from regions affected by the armed conflict. So far, 54 students of various sports disciplines have visited Poland. Due to the fact that sport is one of the ways to achieve life aspirations, participation in trainings conducted by qualified instructors is a very attractive form of improving technical skills in individual sport disciplines and a way to get to know each other.
