I am truly shocked and saddened to hear what happened to Ms Anca Si Piticia, a citizen of Romania who was brutally beaten in Doncaster on Friday, 15 March 2019.

I would like to offer Ms Si Piticia as well as her children, all her family and friends, my deepest sympathies and wish her a fast and smooth recovery.

I strongly condemn the incident and any other acts of racially-motivated violence and hate crime, which I consider to be absolutely against all socially and legally accepted norms and standards.

We all should take the responsibility of speaking up and challenging abuse whenever we see it for the betterment of our society and for the common good. I hope that the perpetrators of this brutal act of violence are brought to justice.

Again, I would like to express my deepest sympathies to Ms Si Piticia and I would like to assure you that I will follow this case closely.

    Arkady Rzegocki

Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in London
