    Poland-Morocco bilateral relations and their development prospects were discussed by Minister Radosław Sikorski and Saad-Eddine El Othmani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco, who is currently on a visit to Poland.

    During the meeting, Minister Radosław Sikorski referred to his visit to Morocco in 2009, when the two countries marked the  50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. The Polish Foreign Minister also talked about the rich tradition of bilateral cultural and scientific ties between the countries, dating back over 200 years, and underscored the need to unlock the potential in this field. A possible area of cooperation is the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures. The two Ministers noted that Morocco is among Poland’s top Arab economic partners. Economic cooperation can be intensified thanks to instruments that exist in Morocco-EU relations. Minister El Othmani expressed his interest in Polish democratic transformation experiences, as reform process is currently underway in Morocco.


    The Ministers also discussed issues related to North Africa, paying special attention to the Arab Spring and its impact on the Maghreb and Egypt.



    The chief of Moroccan diplomacy came to Poland at the invitation of Minister Radosław Sikorski. Saad-Eddine El Othmani will also hold meetings with Sejm Deputy Marshal Cezary Grabarczyk and members of the Polish-Moroccan Parliamentary Group of Friendship.
