On Monday, Minister Witold Waszczykowski attended the Hungarian Ambassadors Conference organized by Hungary’s foreign ministry in Budapest.

Together with his Hungarian, Czech and Slovak counterparts, the chief of Polish diplomacy took part in a discussion panel devoted to the Visegrad Group (V4). “A strong voice of the Visegrad Group in the European Union is one of the priorities of Poland’s V4 presidency,” Minister Waszczykowski said in his address. “Thinking about the future of Europe, we must rebuild a Union of trust: trust between citizens, between member states, between institutions. The EU’s future is a future that consists of solidarity, flexibility, cohesion, and subsidiarity,” emphasized Poland’s top diplomat.

According to Minister Waszczykowski, “The Visegrad Group can be proud of its achievements.” “But we must remember that our potential – political and economic – is yet to be fully developed,” he added.

The V4 foreign ministers also took the visit to the Hungarian capital city as an opportunity to talk about topical issues concerning the European Union. Moreover, Minister Witold Waszczykowski met in Budapest with Zsolt Németh, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Hungarian National Assembly.
