    On the occasion of the Jan Karski Year, the Pole who tried to stop the Holocaust will be commemorated at a conference organised by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) in London on 15 May. Jan Karski’s life has also been presented in today’s supplement to The Guardian.

    The meeting dedicated to Jan Karski that is part of the IHRA’s annual conference will feature Martin Smith’s documentary Messenger from Poland, a panel discussion and Q&A session. 

    The Polish Embassy in London and the British IHRA Chairmanship have co-organised the event.

    On the occasion of the conference, The Guardian has issued an eight-page supplement about Jan Karski. The supplement was published on 14 May on the initiative of the Polish History Museum and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

    The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance is an intergovernmental organisation initiated by Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson ans formally established in 2000. It focuses on Holocaust education, remembrance and research and closely cooperates with governments and international organisations.
