It is already for the second time that the Association of Polish Diplomats’ Families is holding a bridge tournament for charity. The organizers will hand the money collected during this event to the Prometheus Foundation for Older Citizens.

The Foundation aims to support people who are old, poor, sick and live alone. The money it collects buys medications, and pays for rent, gas and electricity bills, as well as social carers and nurses.

Among the tournament’s participants are diplomats and their families, professional bridge players and famous Poles. The event will be accompanied by an auction of such items as: a shirt of the Brazilian national football team signed by all players; a dinner for two in the Atelier Amaro restaurant with quick reservation guaranteed; a diplomatic protocol training course; and prints by young Polish artists. The participants will stand a chance of winning gifts in a special draw, and the tournament winners will be awarded prizes.

Last year saw as many as over 200 people participate in this event, which had originally been meant as a small get-together. Two MFA employees won the competition.

The event is co-organised by the Prometheus Foundation for Older Citizens and the Polish Bridge Association.

The tournament will start in the Regent Warsaw Hotel on Saturday, 27 September 2014, at 4 p.m.
