    This year’s meeting of Polish Ambassadors and Counsellors responsible for Trade and Investment Promotion Sections in the Baltic Sea countries reaffirms the growing importance that Polish foreign policy to the Baltic Sea region.

    The Szczecin meeting is held in the context of new regional development opportunities and challenges, including those related to the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.



    The regional ambassadors’ conference was held on 11-12 October in Szczecin with the participation of MFA Undersecretary of State Grażyna Bernatowicz, Marshal of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship Olgierd Geblewicz, Polish ambassadors accredited to the Baltic Sea countries, representatives of local government, entrepreneurs and academics.


    The event was organised to promote Poland in the Baltic Sea region, in particular to present the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship’s potential.


    The meeting in Szczecin produced tangible results in the form of better recognition of Poland’s potential as a Baltic Sea country, which can actively contribute to regional development. It also helped to better identify possibilities for closer cooperation between the government – especially Polish diplomatic missions in the CBSS – and local self-government partners.


    The meeting was made possible thanks to cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Marshal’s Office of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship.
