Poland, together with 16 others PSI states, has adopted a statement on increasing efforts to fully implement UNSCR 2375 and 2397 aimed at stopping the development of North Korea's nuclear and ballistic programmes.

In accordance with the UN Security Council Resolutions, the signatories undertook to, inter alia, inspect proliferation-related shipments on vessels with the consent of the flag State, on the high seas, if there is information that provides reasonable grounds to believe that the cargo of such vessels contains items prohibited under the resolutions. They undertook also to seize and dispose of items if their supply, sale, transfer, or export is prohibited by the UNSCR 2375 and 2397.

The abovementioned resolutions of the UN Security Council and the PSI Joint Statement constitute the reaction of the international community to the rapid development of the North Korean nuclear program.

Among the signatories of the Joint Statement are, apart from Poland, the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, UK and US.
