  • Interview with Anna Maria Anders the daughter of General Władysław Anders

On 18 May 1944, soldiers of the Polish 2nd Corps captured the monastery of Monte Cassino from the Germans, in what was one of the greatest allied successes of #WW2.

After the end of the war, the commander of the Polish 2nd Corps – General Władysław Anders settled in Britain among his soldiers. He went on to serve in the Polish government-in-exile. In a special video made as part of the #RepublicInExile project, his daughter minister Anna Maria Anders speaks about her father’s life and legacy.
