“I congratulate you warmly on your very successful mission,” said Minister Witold Waszczykowski at a farewell meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Poland, Agustin Núñez Martínez.

“Your dedication to developing Polish-Spanish relations has been critical to reinforcing our cooperation,” emphasized the Polish foreign policy chief.

Agustin Núñez Martínez took up the post of Spain’s Ambassador to Poland in November 2012. During his diplomatic mission, he made a great contribution to deepening Polish-Spanish relations. He facilitated numerous contacts between the prime ministers, such as the intergovernmental consultations chaired by Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in Warsaw in June 2017, and between ministers, including visits by foreign and defence ministers.

Ambassador Augustin Núñez Martínez’s diplomatic efforts contributed to dynamic trade between the countries and a surge of Spanish investments in Poland. He was also strongly involved in promoting Polish-Spanish military cooperation.
