On Tuesday, Minister Witold Waszczykowski is to attend an informal meeting of OSCE foreign ministers in Mauerbach near Vienna, the MFA Press Office announced.

The meeting will discuss the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the military situation in the OSCE area.

Last year, Germany initiated the practice of informal meetings of OSCE foreign ministers, which continues into this year under the Austrian chairmanship. According to the MFA press office, "The meeting’s informal character will make discussions more open."

"The Mauerbach meeting is to address such issues as the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the military situation in the OSCE area," reads the release.

According to the MFA, Poland wants to use the Mauerbach meeting to further "promote our initiatives, which transformed into concrete projects aimed at improving the existing agreements so that they could be more effective in lowering tensions and building trust across Europe."

Minister Waszczykowski is to bring up the security situation in connection with the Russia-Ukraine conflict. "Minister Waszczykowski is also going to highlight Poland’s constructive role as the host of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), as evidenced by, among others, the signing on 28 June of an agreement between the Polish government and OSCE on its status in the Republic of Poland," the MFA Press Office said.
