POLISH CBSS PRESIDENCY

SYNERGY IN DIVERSITY
During the presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States Poland focused on areas of cooperation, which are in line with the three long-term CBSS priorities agreed in June 2014: Regional Identity, Sustainable & Prosperous Region, Safe & Secure Region. The objective was to launch a discussions on a more coherent cooperation between the existing institutions and formats in Northern Europe.
From July 2015 to June 2016 Poland chaired the National Coordinators of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Our aim was to create more synergy in the Baltic Sea cooperation.
The period of the CBSS Polish Presidency coincided with the Polish chairmanship among the ministers for spatial planning and development in the VASAB Committee. VASAB's priorities focus on: strengthening the implementation of the place-based approach in the field of urban issue; spatial planning in relation to maritime areas; territorial monitoring.
Poland chaired the Steering Committee of the Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture (NDPC) until September 2015 and took over the chairmanship of the Steering Committee of the Northern Dimension Partnership on Transport and Logistics (NDPTL) for the year 2016.
