International organisations

Poland is a member of a number of international organisations established pursuant to treaties or international agreements (intergovernmental organisations). IGOs operate under public international law and are provided with an international legal personality, and can therefore be a party to international agreements and legal proceedings before international courts and tribunals. They are also allowed to take part in international conferences.

Poland has observer status to some international organisations and is given the ability to present its stance on certain issues or propose resolutions, but does not hold voting rights.
