On December 5th and 6th 2008 Minister Radosław Sikorski was in Berlin to give a speech together with Mr Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the 13th Polish-German Forum entitled Renew Dialogue – a View over Europe.
The visit also provided a chance to conduct political consultations primarily devoted to bilateral cooperation at the European and international levels. The ministers reached certain agreements in terms of climate- and energy-related policies and the need for further cooperation by the Eastern Partnership. Furthermore, they discussed preparations for mutually important celebrations to be organised in 2009.
Minister Sikorski was also the main guest participating in the discussion held at the Berlin agency of the European Commission devoted to Double Remembrance – Debates for Europe.
During the private part of the visit, at the invitation of Minister Steinmeier, both ministers and their wives visited, among other places of note, the Christmas Market Square in Berlin and the Potsdam Museum of Victims of Political Persecution in the 20th Century.
