On 18 January 2012, the Foreign Minster of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvićs will pay a working visit to Poland at the invitation of Minister Radosław Sikorski. During his stay in Warsaw Minister Rinkēvićs will meet Minister Radosław Sikorski as well as Secretary of State Mikołaj Dowgielewicz.
During the meeting the Ministers will discuss current European affairs and issues of regional and bilateral significance; they will also sum up the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. The agenda of the meeting will further include energy security, Eastern policy and regional security issues in connection with the May 2012 NATO summit in Chicago.
The visit by Minister Edgars Rinkēvićs will be his first to Poland after his nomination as Foreign Minister in October 2011.
