On December 14 and 15 the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Anna Fotyga will participate in the European Council summit in Brussels, as a member of the Polish delegation led by the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Lech Kaczyński.
The participants of the European Council summit will first meet Mr Josep Borrell Fontelles, the President of the European Parliament.
The European Council will discuss such issues as freedom, security and justice as well as migration. The objective of the discussion will be to improve the decision-making process in the area of justice and home affairs of the EU as well as to coordinate common action in the area of migration.
The Heads of State and Government will discuss the further enlargement of the EU and the future of the Constitutional Treaty. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs will focus their discussions on the issues related to the Middle East, including Iran as well as on the actions concerning the EU Strategy for Africa.
