The 14th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 4th Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol is to be held in Poznań on 1st – 12th December 2008. The Conference is organised by the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and will be hosted by the Government of the Republic of Poland, with the preparations being coordinated by the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Poland. 8,000 participants, representing more than 190 government delegations and headed by Ministers for the Environment or Climate Change, as well as members of international institutions, non-governmental environmental, business and research organisations and the media are expected during the two week session.
        The COP14 opening ceremony will be attended by the Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski.
