Tasks and responsibilities of the Foreign Affairs Minister

- Maintain relations with other states and international organizations
- Represent and protect the interests of the Republic of Poland, Polish citizens and legal entities abroad
- Promote Poland and Polish language abroad
- Cooperate with Poles living abroad and support Polish cultural and educational institutions abroad
- Organize and supervise the activities of Poland’s diplomatic missions and consulates
- Propose and develop policies of the Council of Ministers in foreign affairs matters; elaborate projects and draft proposals for such policies and submit them to the Council of Ministers
- Implement the Council of Ministers’ policies; coordinate and supervise their implementation by relevant offices
- Fulfill the above tasks and responsibilities in cooperation with other Ministers, the Government Strategic Studies Center, other units of national and local government, business community, trade unions, social organizations.
- Represent the Republic of Poland in international human rights protection bodies
Provide guidelines and supervision to The Polish Institute of International Affairs in Warsaw and The Institute for Western Affairs in Poznań, as well as diplomatic missions, consular offices and Polish Institutes abroad
