On June 29 Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski gave a press conference at the MFA devoted to Polish development assistance in 2009.
The event was attended by the coordinators of selected projects implemented around the world. After the conference, the coordinators was available for interviews. Ms Barbara Szymanowska, adviser on development assistance to the Commander of the Polish Task Force in Ghazni (Iraq) was a special guest. This year, 20 aid projects worth 20 million PLN are being implemented in Ghazni Province.

Other Polish development projects being realized this year include the establishment of the first pharmacy in the Georgian Pankisi Gorge, a wholesale food market in the Crimea, programs to combat police corruption and save energy in Ukraine, organization of agro-tourism in neglected but attractive regions of Georgia and Moldova, and the eradication of social barriers faced by disabled persons in Georgia and Rwanda.
