On Wednesday, February 10th, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski made a telephone call to High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Baroness Catherine Ashton to discuss the recent steps by Belarus’s authorities against the Union of Poles in Belarus.
Minister Radosław Sikorski and High Representative Catherine Ashton discussed the possible reaction of the European Union backing Poland’s efforts to protect the rights of the Polish minority in Belarus and to restore the Union’s running conditions. Catherine Ashton shared Minister Sikorski’s concern over the ensuing circumstances and declared readiness to address the issue during talks with Belarus.
Radosław Sikorski and Catherine Ashton also discussed High Representative’s intended visit to Warsaw and her participation in the Eastern Partnership ministerial meeting.
