MFA Secretary of State for European Affairs Mikołaj Dowgielewicz attended the informal working lunch that the Ministers for Europe of the 27 member states held today, March 16th, in Brussels at the invitation of Spain’s Secretary of State for the European Union Diego López Garrido.

The meeting analysed the state of implementation of the European External Action Service, underway following the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty. The EU Ministers for Europe also studied the proposal for the EU 2020 Strategy recently presented by the Commission, as well as discussed the state of preparations for the next week’s European Council.

Secretary of State Mikołaj Dowgielewicz also met Catherine Ashton’s Special Adviser on the EEAS and Denmark’s former Permanent Representative in Brussels Paul Skytte Christoffersen, as well as the Secretary-General of the European Commission Catherine Day, and the Head of Herman Van Rompuy’s Cabinet Frans van Daele.
