The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ireland, Micheál Martin, visited Poland at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, on June 12 2009.

Their talks focused on Union issues, with particular reference to the Lisbon Treaty, including the so-called Irish protocol and the repeat referendum on the Treaty in Ireland. Other topics on the agenda included bilateral relations, the upcoming elections of the President of the European Parliament and Secretary General of the Council of Europe and issues connected with the presence of Polish workers in Ireland.
