Information concerning the cities organising the games in the qualifying round of the European Championship



Vienna

The capital of Austria situated in the North East part of the country. There will be a Polish-Austrian game on 12 June 2008 at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in the Vienna’s Pratter district. On 29 June 2008, in the capital of Austria there will be a final game in which the winning team will be identified.

A Fan-Zone will be organised outside the stadium (zones for the fans). The largest one extending from the Ringstrasse to Heldenplatz is to have 100 thousand m2 and is envisaged from 70 thousand people. 9 beams will make it possible to watch all 31 games, celebrate and enjoy the entertainment programmes (the zone is to be available every day from 9.00–24.00).

The first 8 games will be transmitted through the beams with the surface of 44 m2; it will be possible to watch the games for free in the vicinities of the stadium in Prater.


Klagenfurt

The capital of Carynthia, situated in the south of Austria. On 8 June 2008, on the Klagenfurt stadium, which can host up to 30 000 viewers, there will be a Polish German game (name and address of the stadium: Wörtherseestadion, Südring 107, A-9020 Klagenfurt). Innsbruck

The capital of Tirol situated at the bottom of the Nordkette Mountains with the direct access to the high Alp summits. It is possible to reach other cities from Insbruck where the games will be played. Special fan zone will be prepared at the ski jump for ca. 15 000 viewers from all over Europe.
The stadium where the games will be played with the participation fo the teams from Spain, Russia and Sweden are called Tivoli-Stadion. Detailed information on the possibilities of accessing the stadium are available from the web site: www.innsbruck-tirol08.at


Salzburg

The where Mozart  was born – the capital of the union land of Salzburg. The authorities anticipate that a much bigger number of viewer will arrive than the Wals-Siezenheim stadium can hold (ca. 30 000 persons), where the games with the participation of the teams from Greece, Russia and Sweden will be held. For those fans of the games who will arrive in Salzburg without tickets (it is anticipated that it will be ca. 25 thousand), special zones with the beams will be prepared as in other cities where it will be possible to watch the games live.
