MFA Secretary of State for European Affairs Mikołaj Dowgielewicz took part in an informal meeting of Ministers for Europe, organized on 12-14 January 2010 by the Spanish Presidency in the town of La Granja.

During the meeting the Spanish Presidency addressed the Lisbon Treaty implementation issues (i.e. President of the European Council, President of the European Commission, European External Action Service, the powers of General Affairs Council and Foreign Affairs Council, EU’s accession to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights, and the ‘solidarity clause’). Also, Ministers for Europe discussed the EU 2020 Strategy and the European Citizens' Initiative. The hosts also presented the aims of the Spanish Presidency for the upcoming six months.
