The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, visited Finland on June 8 2009, for meetings with the Finnish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Stubb, and Speaker of Parliament Sauli Niinistö.
The talks of the two foreign ministers focused on bilateral relations , current international and European issues, including consultations before the June European Council and a review of possible cooperation in implementing the Eastern Partnership. Sikorski and Stubb also signed a bilateral convention on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of income tax dodging. The convention will replace an intergovernmental agreement concluded in 1977.
This year Poland and Finland are marking the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
