Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Radosław Sikorski accompanies the President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Donald Tusk in the meeting of European Council held on 11th - 12th December in Brussels.
        The Summit shall focus on the following issues: the Lisbon Treaty, economic and financial situation, energy and climatic changes, Common Agricultural Policy as well as external relations and security. In this respect, the European Council shall adopt a report related to updating of the European Security Strategy and analyse the Committee proposal on the Eastern Partnership. The Council will ask the committee and Council to continue works on this initiative in 2009.
        The issues related to the Middle East Peace Process will be discussed during the meeting of ministers of foreign affairs of the EU member states.
