On Friday, Feb. 12th, Belarus’s Foreign Minister Sergey Martinov paid a working visit to Warsaw at the invitation of Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.
During talks Ministers covered a number of bilateral issues, such as economic, energy, cultural and agricultural cooperation. Special emphasis was laid on the question of the Polish minority in Belarus. Ministers also addressed issues of Belarus’s cooperation with the European Union, especially the country’s participation in Eastern Partnership.
During the visit Ministers signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on frontier zone travel.
After the meeting with Minister Sikorski, Foreign Minister Sergey Martinov delivered a lecture on Belarus’s foreign policy and the development of Polish-Belarusian relations. The lecture was organized by the Polish Institute of International Affairs in cooperation with the Embassy of Belarus in Warsaw.
