The terms and the conditions of arrival and stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland of the citizens of EU are regulated by the act of July 14, 2006 on the entry into, residence in and exit from the Republic of Poland of nationals of the European Union Member States and their family members (Journal of Laws No. 144, item 1043).
This law replaced the previous regulation: the law published on July 27, 2002 about arrival into the territory of the Republic of Poland, stay and exit from this territory of the citizens of UE and their family members.
According to the current regulations, the Act of July 14, 2006 is applied not only to the citizens of EU and their family members, but also to: 1) the nationals of the non-EU European Economic Area states; 2) nationals of States, which are not parties to the agreement on European Economic Area, who may exercise their right to move and reside freely within the territory on the grounds of the agreements concluded by these States with the European Community and its Member States. These regulations refer also to their family members, who join them or reside with them.
