Replying to the letter sent by the Polish Embassy in Washington, addressed to the editor in chief of "Time" weekly, Mr Richard Stengel, regarding the article including the incorrect phrase “Poland's Stalag Luft III” as well as having received letters of protests sent to the editor’s office by representatives of the Polish community, the weekly included, in the latest issue of 3rd March 2008, the following correction (in a prominent position on page 12):

        “Although the prisoner-of-war camp was located in what is now Poland, it was built and operated by Nazi Germany within that country's borders at that time”.
